B1015 - WWI German Army M1895 Tornister

WWI German Army M1895 Tornister BackPack or commonly called the "Pony Fur Pack." The M1895 was the standard issue pack for carrying personal kit and rations at the beginning of WWI and was seen used and issued throughout WWI.

The packs were constructed with a rigid interior wood frame which is covered with calf skin on one or both sides. This example is the single calf skin sided model, featuring thick supple leather straps with white stitching and correct metal hardware. It comes complete with adjustable leather shoulder straps. The straps are still pliable, with two of the auxiliary straps becoming detached, but still present with the pack. This pack looks to of being captured and carried the name Guillemot. A fine example.
