B1023 - Deactivated WWII German 8cm mortar bomb and case

Very hard to find 8cm Granatwerfer 34 mortar bomb and carrying case from Leningrad.

The 8cm Granatwerfer 34 (8 cm GrW 34) was the standard German infantry mortar throughout World War II. A weapon much feared by allied troops. It was known for it's accuracy and rapid rate of fire.

The mortar bomb is a rare smoke shell. It has it's original red painted finish and has clear painted markings and is 1941 dated. The fuse is also stamped and Waffenamt. It is in good condition with some surface oxidation in places.

The case is in good overall condition and recently recovered from Leningrad. It is solid, and the handles, catches and internal locks all still function. It has the original painted feldgrau finish with white stenciled markings "Munition s. Gr. W. 34". The case is solid with small holes in placed from corrosion. A nice original item from the historic WWII siege.
