WW2 German M36 Fallschirmjager helmet

RH301- WW2 German M36 Fallschirmjager helmet
A fine WW2 German M36 Fallschirmjager helmet. Stamped ET68, the decal is a good 85% with much of the original green paint remaining. The spanner bolts haven't been turned and the liner and chinstrap is in a used but complete condition. Now getting very hard to find. Plenty of fakes out there, this is definitely not one of them!

A139- WW2 German M40 Kriegsmarine SD helmet
WW2 German M40 Single Decal Kriegsmarine helmet. This is a really nice helmet with a fine patina. Manufactured by ET, it is large size 66 with batch number 1287. The green paintwork is a good 80% with surface wear from period usage. The liner and chinstrap are original to the helmet and the gold ET decal is around 85%. A really good example of a scarce and desirable Kriegsmarine helmet.

WW2 German M35 Army helmet

I370- Early Named WW2 German M35 Army SD (ex DD) helmet
WW2 German M35 Single, Ex-Double Decal army helmet. This is a great early war helmet with a fine patina. Manufactured by Quist, it is stamped Q64 with batch number 549 on the rim. The early apple green paintwork is a good 70% with surface wear from period usage. The liner and chinstrap are original to the helmet and the liner is sound and has never been out. The chinstrap is maker coded with a 1938 date and the liner is manufactured from aluminium with the reinforcements around the chinstrap lugs. The liner is ink stamped 64 and both the liner and rim have been marked with the name Uffz. Beistle 23979. The heer decal is around 75% and is a ''big foot' decal, correct for a Quist helmet. There are traces of the tri-colour decal to the right of the helmet, which has been removed as per 1940 regulations. All together a fine desirable helmet with hard to find early apple green showing plenty of wartime use.

NSDAP (Nazi) Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor

C343 - NSDAP Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor
A 1939 pattern NSDAP Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor Cap. The cap is tan-colored with a one-piece circular crown, piped in blue wool and features a classic saddle shape, with a high front. It is complete with a set of die-stamped alloy, gilded political cap insignia, with a political style cockade with brown velvet centreband, with bullion wire chin cords and fasteners. The visor is made of brown fibre which is in excellent condition, with the liner made from golden rayon lining, and celluloid sweat diamond. The inside of the cap shows moderate wear from period use and the sweat band has become a little lose. The cap has a very small stain to the top but is in excellent condition.

The cap has two folded wartime newspapes found in the cap - the 'Allgemeiner Anzeiger' and the ' Braunschweiger Tageszeitung'. These are included with the cap. A fine near mint cap with history.

Allgemeine SS EM/NCO’S Visor Cap

C342 - Allgemeine SS EM/NCO’S Visor Cap
An excellent example of a very early Algemeine SS visor cap. Manufactured from a very high quality black wool with a white wool waffenfarbe piping to the top crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the centerband. The cap has its blackened, patent leather chinstrap with two length adjustment buckles and a central joining clip, secured with black painted metal buttons. It has a rare blackend leather visor which is in very good condition. The interior is fully lined with an orangish/tan oil cloth lining to the crown with a clear celluloid sweat diamond. The sweatband and liner are in good condition with wear from period usage and small hand sticthes to re-attach to the visor. There are no RZM/SS tags remaining.

The cap is complete with its original first model nickel silver Totenkopf with no bottom jaw and the national eagle insignia with some light age tarnish. The external areas of the cap are in overall very good condition with two moths nips to the top right hand side a one small hole at the rear underneath the top overhang. A fine rare early SS cap.

I234 - WW2 British Army MK2 Brodie helmet from Dunkirk
MkII Brodie helmet as issued to the British army in the early war period. Bought in a in a Dunkirk shop, the helmet retains about 75% of its original paint and is in fair condition with a few patches of light surface rust. The liner is stamped on the inside rim with manufacture and date code ROCo 66 1/1939. The liner is good condition and has both the issue date of 1939 and the maker-marks which are still clear and crisp. A nice honest early war British combat helmet from a famous battle in British history.

WW2 MkII Brodie helmet with the 3-hole triangle on the brim indicating it was made of mild-steel but was still stronger than the 4-hole version and the civilian Zuckerman helmet. The helmet is in very good condition and retains its original painted finish with a nice even patina with only a few small scratches. The liner is in good condition and the issue date of 1939, size marking 7 3/4 and maker-marks BMB are still clear and crisp. The shell is stamped on the inside rim with a 1940 date. A nice original tommy helmet for Home Guard use.

WW2 British Zuckerman Civil Defence helmet

A48 - WW2 British Zuckerman Civil Defence helmet
Officialy known as the civillian defence helmet, this helmet was designed by professor Zuckerman for use by Fire Watchers and Civil Defence forces. Manufactured from pressed steel with a leather and webbing liner which was attached to the helmet via a chord passed through the helmets surface. This example is in good condition with original paint and liner. The inner rim of the hemet is stamped AMC 6 with a 1941 date and part of the string has become detached from the helmet exterior, but the liner is in very good condition. An example of home front headgear from the blitz period.

Somme Battlefield-dug Brodie Helmet

J03 - Somme Battlefield-dug Brodie Helmet
An original battlefield-dug helmet. This is the original sharp-rimmed Type B pattern only in use in 1916 and so was almost certainly used and lost during the Somme offensive (July-November 1916). It has a patina of rust and pitting over all and naturally has none of its original fittings remaining although the mounts are still evident. The distinctive stress-lines from manufacture are also still just visible. A 100% original Somme battlefield relic.

MkII Brodie helmet as issued to the ARP (Air Raid Precutions) Wardens during the Blitz period in Britain. It was the standard British army helmet but repainted black. The helmet is in good condition but missing much of its external paint work. The liner system is fine and is stamped with the size 7 1/4 M&C with a 39 date. and the inner rim is maker stamped. An honest example.

WW2 German M16 helmet

A51 - WW1 German M16 / M17 helmet - Ancre River
First World War German M16 / M17 helmet recovered from the area of the Ancre river close to the Somme. The helmet is in good condition for a ground find. It has a crack in the crown which looks to be a blast fracture, with some small amount of corrosion to the right hand crown due to corrosion. The helmet has no original field grau paint remaining, with a white post war painted finish to protect the inside. The helmet is still solid though, with its lugs and chinstrap lugs intact.

WW2 French M26 steel helmet. Very similar in design to the French helmet of WW1 the M16, the M26 was pressed out of a single piece of manganese steel with a simpler liner which was easier to manufacture. This example is in very good condition and retains its original light olive green paint and FR artillery insigna to the front. The interior of the helmet retains its original, six finger leather brown liner and chinstrap. A nice example.

WW2 French M26 steel helmet. Very similar in design to the French helmet of WW1 the M16, the M26 was pressed out of a single piece of manganese steel with a simpler liner which was easier to manufacture. This example is in very good condition and retains its original dark olive green paint and FR artillery insigna to the front. The interior of the helmet retains its original, six finger dark leather liner and chinstrap. Good example.

Excellent example of a large M42 German army helmet. It is size 68/59 and is stamped NS68 (manufacturer Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke). The liner and band have never been out of the helmet and the decal is in good condition, approx 95%. A fine example.

WW2 Luftwaffe M40 helmet - Bastogne

I363 - WW2 M40 SD Luftwaffe helmet found near Bastogne
Luftwaffe M40 helmet size 62, found in Tarchamps village south east of Bastogne. The helmets leather has become detached, but the liner band with felt and pins are firmly attached. The batch number and maker code are not visable due to surface oxidation, but the majority of the field grey paint is still in place with a nice complete second pattern Lufwaffe decal. It has some light surface erosion but the helmet is solid. A genuine 'Battle of the Bulge' German helmet.

WW2 German Transitional helmet

I233 - Scarce WW2 M16 / M17 Transitional helmet
Early Nazi era Wehrmacht helmet, the M16 was used with the addition of the new M31 liner system. This helmet has an early aluminium M31 liner, stamped DRP SCHUBETH-WER G.m.B.H BRAUNSCHWEIG 1937. The leather is named (looks like Rettler) and there is also a unit stamping. The liner is cracked at the back but is still held securely to the helmet and one of the chinstrap loops is missing and has been replaced with an improvised wire piece. The crown of the helmet has at some stage recieved some battle damage and has undergone a factory repair with a repair number I71 stamped on the crown. It has around 40-50% apple green paint remaining, with the white outline of the tri-colour decal remaining and about 80% of the heer decal which has surface wear.

Large size 66/58, camo helmet from Northern France. Stamped ET66 (Eisenhüttenwerke) with batch number 4359. Heavy sand camo applied to ordnance tan and green paint applied over original field grey. Some paint loss particularly to crown with small amount of brown surface rust, not active. All rivets / studs in place, maker coded with 40 date and leather / zinc liner that hasn't been out of the shell. The leather has a small amount of surface staining / scorch marks at the crown.

WW2 Luftwaffe M42 helmet, size 64. The paint is in a blue / green colour and fair condition, with slight surface oxidisation and the the decal at approx 90%. The inside rim is stamped ckl66 (manufacture by Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale). The zinc liner is in excellent condition, with an ink stamped 57 and is complete with drawstring and original owners initials KK which is crossed through with a biro.

WW2 Luftwaffe M40 helmet, large size 66. The paint is in a blue / green colour and in good condition, with the decal about 85% but missing the swastika. The inside rim is stamped SE66 (manufacture by Sächsische Emaillier). The zinc liner is can just be seen as is for head size 59 but the date on the other side of the liner can not be read. The leather itelf is in good condition, ink stamped 59 and is complete with drawstring. The buckle end of the chinstrap is still attached with just the base of the other side.
A good example.

I244 - WW1 German M16 helmet
An early first world war M16 helmet with the plied leather stitched headband. The exterior of the helmet has some feld grau paint remaining with traces of late war camouflage paint of 1918 vintage. There is approximately 40% original paint finish remaining, with patches of surface rust. The liner remains intact, however there is some damage with one fo the leather pads missing. The helmet interior is dirty and untouched. The chinstrap mounting fixings remain in place.

WW2 SD M40 German army helmet with a Mediterranean tan camo. The camouflage finish remains a good 90% intact, with usual wear and scratch marks to the crown. The interior is finished in feldgrau combat paint with the inside rim is stamped NS64 with lot number DN66. The liner is of brown leather with a zinc liner that shows only moderate wear and is sound. The maker code DRP 1943 can just be seen on the inside of the liner band. It has a name written on the leather liner ( Fran Ch...). The decal rate at approx 95%.

WW2 Luftwaffe M40 helmet, size 62. The Luftwaffe blue paintwork is in good condition with the usual wear marks to the crown. The decal is in good condition at about 90%. The inside rim is stamped hkp 62, indicating manufacture by Sächsische Emaillier. The date on the liner can not be read, but the helmet would date to 1943, when Sächsische Emaillier changed from SE to hkp and before introduction of the M42 helmet. The liner has dried out, shows signs of much wear and has come away in places, but is ok and the drawstring is still attached. The ends of the chinstap are still attached. A nice helmet.

Spanish M.42

RJ028 - Spanish M.42 "Modello Z" steel helmet
The same shape as the standard WW2 German M42 helmet. The shell is near perfect and retains all of its original green paintwork with the front loop which would hold a badge. The helmet has it's orignal rudimentary leather liner, with 3 leather tongues, felt pads and 7 brass reivets, the same model as at the Spanish M.30 and M.26. Very good condition.

WW2 NSDAP Nazi Cap

RJ025 -NSDAP (Nazi) Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor
NSDAP Ortsgruppe Political Leader's Visor Cap. The cap is very worn and has suffered from some years of poor storage. It has had some internal re-stitching to add strength and shape. It is a small size and is made of ribbed light/brown wool/rayon blend material. The brown velvet centreband is still in place but has become frayed to one side. There are only small amounts of the light/blue wool piping in place.

The cap features a classic saddle shape, with a high front. It is complete with a set of die-stamped alloy, gilded political cap insignia, with a political style cockade. It is missing the bullion wire chin cords and fasteners. The visor is made of brown fibre, with the liner made from golden rayon lining, and celluloid sweat diamond.

The cap shows a high amount of wear from period use with damage to the inside and left side and most of the piping now missing. The fabric is fragile and has come away at the seems. However the cap is original and does display well with the price reflecting the overall condition.

H08 - WW2 Single Decal German M35 (re-issue) helmet
Originally an early war issue helmet in dark green grey, it has been re-issued, re-painted in a lighter shade of green with a zinc 1942 dated liner. The eagle deacal has some wear at around 50% with good silvering. Underneath the top paint, elements of the tri-colour decal can still be seen. The liner is good and chinstrap is still complete on the buckle end and is still there on the other although the end has broken off. Helmet Size 62.

A really good example of a solid M35 Wehrmacht combat helmet, sensibly priced.

J04 - Home-Guard/ARP/NFS 1940 Brodie MkII Helmet
An original civilian MkII Brodie helmet as issued to the Home Guard, National Fire Service, ARP-wardens and other non front-line personnel who still required strong helmets. The helmet has the 3-hole triangle on the brim indicating it was made of mild-steel but was still stronger than the 4-hole version and the civilian Zuckerman helmet. The original colour-scheme would tend to suggest Home-Guard or possibly NFS issue. The helmet retains 95% of its original paint and is in very good condition with a only a few scratches and small patches of light surface rust. The liner is in near mint condition and both the issue date of 1940 and the maker-marks are still clear and crisp. The pencilled in initials of the original owner ‘CM’ can also be seen next to the date marks. A nice 100% original piece.

Fallschirmjager helmet

WW2 German Army Single Decal M40 helmet
A good example of a German M40 SD combat helmet, size 64. The heer decal is about 90% and about 75% of the paintwork is still in place. The helmet shows signs that it has been in combat, with a small blast fracture to the crown. The leather liner is still strong and supple and has never been removed from the helmet. The batch no. looks like 677 but the manufacturer code can not be seen under the paint. A very good example of an M40 combat helmet.

Fallschirmjager helmet

H07 - WW2 Camo Fallschirmjager helmet
An original Normandy Vetaran, found near village of Auvers Normandy. This Fallschirmjager helmet has pitting to the crown, but still retains a hight degree of thick green / brown camoflage. The liner is missing, but the spanner bolts have been cleaned and can be turned. The shell is large size stamped ET71, with its production run number 941. There are still traces of the Luftwaffe eagle. A very hard to find original Normandy Fallschirmjager helmet.
