WW2 German Army M40 tunic

C314 - WW2 German Wehrmacht EM / NCO's M40 tunic
The M40 field blouse was based on the earlier M36, with modifcations to the silver tress to a less bright colour and the green collar to a basic field grey. Consisting of a field grey wool construction, with four pleated pockets with scalloped edges and an EM / NCO breast eagle. With a five button front closure and a double hook and eye positioned at the forward neckline, the collar has the zig-zag reinforeced stitching to the reverse with M36 pattern collar tabs. With infantry slip on shoulder straps with white rayon waffenfarbe piping, the shoulder straps retaining loops and buttons are all intact. The field blouse is on good overall condition with areas of nap wear and small field repair to the left hand breast pocket. A good example.

WW2 German Army Assault Gunner's Wrap-Over Jacket

C205 - LW Herman Goring Panzer Division Assault Gunner drill / fatigue uniform
A fine Luftwaffe Herman Goring Panzer Division Assault Gunner drill/fatigue uniform in pale blue/grey HBT material designed to be worn on its own as a work jacket or over the wool panzer jacket to protect it. The jacket has a large pocket on left front and double line of zinc buttons on right. The slip-on shoulder straps are white piped and in same material as uniform, a subdued grey tress for Unteroffizier. The Luftwaffe breast eagle is zig-zag machine sewn and there is an Iron Cross ribbon in button hole. The front pocket also has loops for two combat awards. There is no liner with the jacket, which is correct, and the markings are no longer visible inside.

This jacket has been left exactly as it was found. The zinc buttons have oxidised and are quite rusty but would clean up and the jacket could do with a clean as well, but no holes or moth damage. A good example of a rare tunic.

The black rayon type lining is unmarked, and the left inside pocket has an additional zip period applied, which is broken and the tab missing. The collar has a hand stitched period field repair where it joins the body of the jacket and one of the buttons has been replaced during its service.
