Near mint condition German G71/84 rifle in obsolete 11mm Mauser calibre. This was the rifle developed for the German army after the Franco-Prussian war and was the first magazine-fed rifle ever issued to the German army, having an 8-round tubular feed beneath the barrel. It was still in use with German Landwehr forces in the First World War. Dated 1888, the gun has mostly matching numbers, a nice clear Spandau stamp-mark and retains nearly all of its bluing with excellent woodwork and a good strong working action. The gun is in 11mm Mauser a calibre designated obsolete by the UK Home Office and can be owned live without a licence. An historic rifle in excellent condition.
We also have a magnificent brass-handled S-71 bayonet for sale separately in our Edged Weapons section (see photo).
