WW2 German Wehrmacht Flak Badge

C207 - WW2 German Wehrmacht Flak Badge
Authorised on the 18th July 1941, the Flak Badge was awarded to army flak gunners for shooting down 5 enemy aircraft. As most flak units were under control of the Luftwaffe , this award was quite rare. This is a good example, manufactured from zinc with the maker's mark RS under the hinge on the reverse.

The 1914-18 Allied Victory Medal

C168 The 1914-18 Allied Victory Medal
Also known as 'Wilfred', this was awarded to each of the allies for participaion in the First World War. Manufactured from bronze, the medal is in good condition with little surface oxidation. The ribbon is a replacement. The medal was awarded to private C P Langton, 22234 of the West Riding Regiment, whose details are impressed on the rim.

Krim Shield

C206 - WW2 German Krim Shield
Worn on the upper left sleeve, the Krim shield was awarded to all members of the 11th German Army who took part in the Crimean campaign of 1941-42. It would be presented on completing 3 months service in the Crimea or from taking part in a major battle or receiving a wound. The shield consists of the outstretched eagle, date and map of the Crimea featuring the six main cities as small circles. It is in excellent un-issued condition, with its wool backing and pins intact.

WW2 German 1941 Eastern Front Medal

I267 WW2 German 1941 Eastern Front Medal
Commonly Known as "Ostmedaille" (East Medal) or "Russian Front Medal" this award was introduced for participation in Operation Barbarossa. The medal has a concave obverse with a helmet and stick grenade and a Eagle with swastika and branch of leaves on the reverse. It has the inscription "WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42". The medal is in good condition with a good amount of the finish and detail intact.

German Mothers Cross in Gold

I268 German Mothers Cross in Gold
A good example of the Mother's Cross in Gold, given for 8 or more children. The cross is in good condition with a small amount oxidisation to the gold and slight wear to the reverse, with the engraving 16th December 1938 Adolf Hitler. The cross is missing its blue and white ribbon, but is still a nice example.

I270 WW1 Hindenburg IRON CROSS with original citation
The Cross of Honour, also popularly known, the Hindenburg Cross, was a commemorative medal inaugurated on July 13, 1934 by President von Hindenburg for soldiers of Imperial Germany who fought in World War I. This example is in fine condition, manufactured from bronze, with 1914-1918 date surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath. Two crossed swords ran between the arms of the cross. The back of the cross has the manufacturer marking olc. The medal comes with its citation to Eisenbahner Ernst Seeliger. It is dated 24.9.1936 with a Nazi eagle and swastika stamp.

Awarded to all participants , armed forces, merchant marine and resistance from Belgium involved in WW2. The victory fetures the Belgian lion with letter V (for Victory) and the reverse is inscribed: 'Herinneringsmedaille, medaille commemorative de la guerre 1940-1945 van den oorlog'. The ribbon has yellow, black and white colours. with the crossed sabres. Good condition.

Chemin Des Dames Aisne Unofficial veterans' medal.

I282 French Chemin Des Dames Aisne Unofficial veterans' medal
Chemin Des Dames Aisne Unofficial veterans' medal. Comprised of a six pointed star atop two crossed swords. On each point of the star is a small raised circle. The obverse shows a windmill above nine crosses. Text on either side of the windmill reads '1914-18', '1939-40'. The reverse shows a French helmet encircled with text which reads 'CHEMIN DES DAMES AISNE'. The ribbon consists of three main stripes, one central white stripe and two black stripes, with thin stripes of the French tricolours on either side.

Also known as 'Pip', this medal was issued to those who served against Germany between 5th August 1914 and 31st December 1915. Constructed from bronze, the front features the crossed swords and laurel with 1914-15 date. The reverse has the soldiers details - 46471, PTE RS Thomas, Royal Army Medial Corps (R.A.M.C.). Good condition.

I272 The British War Medal, 1914-18
Also known as 'Squeak', this medal was awarded those of the British and Imperial Forces who either entered a theatre of war between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918. Manufactured from silver, the overse features the horseman with King George V to the reverse. The medal was awarded to private WH Ewing, 28592 of the Scottish rifles, whose details are impressed on the rim.

This medal was awarded for operational service in WW2, between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945. The medal has the six–pointed star of yellow copper zinc alloy with the royal cypher GRI VI in the centre. It has a ribbon of dark blue, red and light blue, symbolising the Royal and Merchant Navies, the Army and the Royal Air Force. Very good condition

The Burma Star

I277 The Burma Star
The Burma Star was awarded for service in the Burma campaign from 11 December 1941 to 2 September 1945. The centre of the ribbon is red (representing the Commonwealth forces) with outer stripes of dark blue (representing the British forces). The dark blue bands each have at their centres a stripe of bright orange (symbolising the sun). Good condition.
