A very good example of a Second World War machete manufactured by Martindale, complete with leather scabbard. The blade is approx 15 inch long, stamped with Martindale with an Aligator and the handle is approd 5" long, held together by 5 rivets with a War Office mark. The leather scabbard is in good condition for its age, with a war office SLI stamp and 1944 date. The machete handle retaining strap is strong and still supple, missing a small rivet. Overall in bery good condition for the age and service use.
