Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Bayonet complete with scabbard.
The M1896 bayonet was designed for use with the Swedish Mauser Model 1896 rifle and later remained in service with other Swedish small arms, including the Ljungman AG42B semi-automatic rifle (Model 1942). This robust all-steel knife bayonet reflects the high standard of Swedish military manufacture.
The bayonet features a 209 mm single-edged polished blade with a narrow fuller, slightly widening toward the point. It is fitted with the characteristic engine-turned (chequered) tubular steel grip, cross-guard, and muzzle ring, designed to attach securely to the rifle.
This example is in excellent condition, with a clean, well-preserved blade. The original blued finish shows only light wear. Both the bayonet and the steel scabbard bear unit markings, adding further historical interest. Complete with its original steel scabbard.
