Description

The General Assault badge was introduced in 1940, to be awarded to support personnel, not directly involved in combat, who were ineligible for the Infantry or Panzer Assault badge.

This is an interesting example, in that it is un-finished. Manufactured by JFS, with clear maker mark, it is made of alloy with a solid back. The features of the high relief Wehrmacht eagle, crossed bayonet and stick grenade, with oak-leaf wreath are all nicely struck. The edges of the badge are un-finished and it is lacking the catch and pin assembly. Interesting and hard to find half made example.
