Description

Worn on the upper left sleeve, the Krim shield was awarded to all members of the 11th German Army who took part in the Crimean campaign of 1941-42. It would be presented on completing 3 months service in the Crimea or from taking part in a major battle or receiving a wound. The shield consists of the outstretched eagle, date and map of the Crimea featuring the six main cities as small circles.
This example is in very good condition, complete with its wool backing and with pins and card intact. This is a scarce example from an unknown maker.
