A fine combat worn, field re-issue early WWII German M35 Double Decal Helmet which has been re-issued as a Single decal helmet.
The helmet has it’s original issue apple green paint, with a rough textured green re-issue overpaint. There paint has the usual scrapes and scuff marks common with combat helmets.
The M31 leather liner is in good overall condition, with the original M31 non reinforced Aluminium liner band dated 1937. There are breaks to the band near the bales which is common to the older liner systems. The liner carries a unit marking as well as the soldiers name. The split pins and washers are original and untouched.
The helmet has the re-issue Ed Strache decal to the left hand side and the early tri-colour decal which is partially exposed on the right. The helmet skirt is stamped Q66 indicating manufacture by Quist with lot number 3333.
A great Heer combat helmet with bags of character.
