Description

A large wartime no decal M42 combat helmet.

The helmet rim is stamped hkp66 with batch number 5483 or 5486, signifying a large size 66 helmet manufacture by Saxon Emaillerwerke, Lauter in 1944. It has most of its rough textured dark green factory applied paint with scuffs, scrapes and rust spots showing from period combat usage. No decal was applied to this helmet as was common to nearly all SE helmets from this period to the end of the war.

All three liner rivets are in place and untouched and the leather liner is subtle and in good condition, with one liner tongue starting to come away and minor staining to the edge with what looks like minor burn marks. The liner is stamped with size number 58.

A great untouched combat helmet with plenty of character.
