A fine WWII German Heer Double decal helmet.
The helmet has been cleaned at some point and there are very small traces of blue paint and in other areas a darker re-issue green coat. The helmet has most of it’s original smooth apple green paint. The left side has a gold toned Wehrmacht eagle decal which is almost complete and in good condition and the right side has a large amount remaining of the national tri-colour decal. All three early liner rivets are in place and the helmet has it’s early double banded M31 aluminium liner. The leather is still ok, with some deterioration and loss of the inner part of some of the leather tongues. The helmet has it’s early chinstrap, which was original to the helmet, which has broken with age.
Manufactured by Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG Thale/Harz, and size 64 /57 with stamping ET64, and batch number 4025 – 1939 production.
A great original early double decal helmet, at a fraction of the cost of an uncleaned one.
