A fine example of the MG Z Optical Sight Periscope extension, ‘Vorsatzfernrohr MG Zeileinrichtung’.
The periscope was introduced in November 1940. Attached to the MG Z 34 optical sight, it put the machine gunners head in a lowered position to help avoid exposure to the gunners head.
This is a fine example with very clear optics. It has been painted originally in dunkelgelb, ordinance tan, and then over painted in green. It caries the original maker stamping, ‘fvs’ with a Waffenamt. It is in excellent condition overall and ready to attach to a rust.
A very hard to find accessory for the MGZ 34.
