Cased German RA35 model 34 8cm heavy mortar sight
The 81mm model 34 mortar Granatwerfer 34 (s.Gr.W.34) was the standard German heavy infantry mortar of WW2. The sight would be mounted on the left hand side of the mortar.
This is a fine example of the panoramic sight with case.
The case is in excellent condition, with original green painted finish, with the black stencilled RA35 designation. The webbing straps are strong and the internal fittings are complete.
The sight is in overall excellent condition and complete with all dials and levers. Maker marked crh, for F Schmidt & Haensch, Steglitz, Berlin. The sight has been captured by the Russian’s and has been overpainted olive green.
