Description

A fine and complete original set of German WWII Panzer/Armored Vehicle Headphones, Model “Dfh.b”, designed specifically for use by Panzer crews and in other armored vehicles.

This wartime headset is in very good condition and remains unmodified. It features two black bakelite earphones with metal alloy backing plates, connected by a leather-covered magnetic sheet metal headband. The headband is joined to the earphones via extended swivel panels that allow for adjustment and a comfortable fit.

Each earphone backing plate is clearly marked with the impressed designation “Dfh.b”, indicating Doppelfernhörer Model “b”, a type used in high-noise environments such as tanks and armored vehicles. (For reference, the Dfh.a model was used for general radio communication.)

The set is further marked SABA and dated 1943, along with a clearly visible Waffenamt acceptance stamp—solid provenance confirming wartime manufacture and military issue.

Both earphones have fabric-covered connection wires at their base, secured with correct wartime-style round-head screws. The original plug remains intact and is also the correct wartime type for this headset.

This is a well-preserved, authentic example of a rare communications headset used by Panzer crews—highly desirable for collectors of WWII German militaria.
